Once again our monitored alarms save the day for one of our business customers. Over the weekend, one of our betting shop customers in the North of England had their premises attacked early in the morning. The burglars smashed through the metal shutters of the shop, however when they entered the property our alarm was activated.

Seconds later, our remote monitoring station was listening in and verbally challenging the burglars via a speaker microphone unit in the shop. Identifying that a burglary was in progress, our monitoring station called the police immediately, who – in turn – react speedily, sending a 5 police response vehicles and a helicopter to hunt down the suspects, resulting in successful arrests.

So – good job all round.

AMCO interactive monitored alarm + immediate police response = bye bye burglars!

We provide monitored alarms to 1000’s of small businesses across the UK. So it’s always nice when we get great feedback from our clients telling us how our alarm monitoring is saving them money and (in some cases) lives!

A couple of weeks back one of our clients shared a story with us of how their shop had been broken into late at night. The burglars smashed their way into said shop, and seconds later – as our alarm monitoring kicked in – we challenged them verbally over the system, and shocked at being talked to (in the dark!) they ran off empty-handed.

No that’s the kind of reaction we like! And importantly, that’s the kind of reaction no other alarm system has – as our interactive alarm monitoring is a great way of scaring off burglars.

There seems to be a rise in celebrity burglaries at the moment. Every week there seems to be a new celebrity that have had their house or car broken into – with Ashley (and Cheryl) Cole being the latest to have their Surrey home broken into.

Luckily the Coles seemed to have a good alarm system – I’d hope a good monitored alarm system – which meant that nothing was stolen.

Footballers and pop stars seem to be the most prone to burglaries, largely because it’s very well publicised where they are. For example, on a Saturday afternoon – you’ll generally know where the likes of Wayne Rooney and the rest of the Premiership – certainly not at home guarding their houses. That’s why they need such good security.

It’s an interesting point to learn from footballers, as one thing we should all learn not to do is to publicise when we’re away – certainly if we’re away for a long time, like on holiday. In these instances we advise people not to post blogs / Tweets / social media sites saying “On holiday” – as that’s frankly a massive sign-post to burglars to get round to your house!

It’s great to see us selling more and more monitored alarm systems around the country, and especially good to see our alarm customer base growing in Birmingham.

Our main area of growth has been around winning new alarm and alarm monitoring contracts from our bigger rivals like ADT, Chubb and Secom. The reason for winning contracts seems to be that in comparison, we’re a lot better value and provide much higher levels of security than our competitors, meaning it’s a win-win scenario for our customers!

And to check out our great monitored alarm systems and monitored CCTV, visit the relevant bits of our site.

Following on from my earlier post about how the Alarm Monitoring company provides such cheap monitored alarms, I thought I’d expand on my thoughts – mainly to emphasise the fact that cheap can also mean reliable security.

I think it’s very important to understand the background to the Alarm Monitoring company to understand how we can achieve both low prices and reliability. The Alarm Monitoring company was founded by Les Quigley – an ex-RAF pilot. With his training in the RAF, Les learnt many lessons – but most importantly was the lesson of the 6 Ps “Planning and preparation prevents piss poor performance”.

And it’s based around this thinking, that Les built an efficient company based around solid well planned processes aimed at eliminating waste but maintaining a reliable service. After all, if you’re a pilot in the RAF and don’t plan your sortees correctly you could lose your life. Fitting security systems isn’t such a high-risk business, however passing over this solid management thinking has allowed Les to build a highly reliable and efficient alarm monitoring and security business.

Why cheap alarm monitoring and monitored alarms also mean reliable security is a post from: The Alarm Monitoring Company, specialist in monitored alarms.
