Intruder Alarm & CCTV Installation Engineer - Birmingham / Midlands

Join AMCO's growing Midlands team - field-based around Birmingham, with a company vehicle, full equipment and structured training provided.

AMCO is expanding its Midlands operations and is looking for additional high-calibre alarm and CCTV installation engineers based in Birmingham and the surrounding region to join the growing team. AMCO is the UK's leading specialist in monitored alarms, a family-owned business operating for over 25 years.

The role

This is a field-based engineering role covering Birmingham and the wider Midlands, installing and maintaining intruder alarm and CCTV systems at customer sites. AMCO builds the role around its engineers rather than the other way round:

  • Flexible working hours and a variable holiday arrangement
  • A fully-equipped company vehicle and modern tools provided from day one
  • Equipment that's continuously upgraded based on direct engineer feedback

Training

New engineers start with a three-week-plus introductory programme at AMCO Academy, followed by field training alongside established engineers so what's learned in the classroom is bedded in on real jobs. Training doesn't stop once you're up to speed - AMCO runs ongoing monthly training sessions, quarterly innovation days, and bi-annual conferences to keep the whole team current.

Requirements

  • Based in the Midlands (Birmingham, Coventry, Leamington Spa, Walsall or Wolverhampton area)
  • Minimum 2 years' UK experience with strong references
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English
  • Dedicated to customer service, ambitious and self-motivated, comfortable working independently and at irregular hours
  • Sound electrical knowledge gained through a recognised apprenticeship
  • Working knowledge of British Standard BS4737 for intruder alarms
  • A full, clean UK driving licence
  • Physically capable of the job - lifting, carrying, and working safely at height on ladders
  • Competent with power tools for equipment installation and repair

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus a quarterly performance-based bonus scheme
  • Flexible start and finish times, with a variable holiday policy
  • Classroom and field training through AMCO Academy, plus annual technical training days
  • A new vehicle and full installation equipment supplied
  • Prompt reimbursement of expenses

How to apply

Apply via AMCO's job application page. There may not currently be a separate general "Alarm Installation Engineer" listing live - if you're looking for other openings, AMCO's current roles hub is the best place to check, and speculative CVs are always welcome even when no specific vacancy is posted.
