Three ways to arm your Ajax system
Ajax gives you a choice of keypad, keyfob or the mobile app for everyday use - pick whichever suits the moment.
Via keypad
Touch the keypad to wake the backlight, enter your 4-digit code, then press the arm button. The system enters sleep mode after 16 seconds of inactivity.
Via keyfob
Press the arm button once before leaving the premises, or twice if you're already outside. You'll get a confirmation notification once the system has armed.
Via the mobile app
Open the Control tab in the Ajax app, find the virtual fob, and press arm.
Disarming works the same way, in reverse
Keypad
Touch any digit, enter your code, then press disarm.
Fob
Press the disarm button.
App
Use the virtual fob in the Control tab.

Managing your Ajax system
Tap any question below to expand it - from Night mode and changing user codes, to taking over an existing system and reading the keypad indicators.
Night (Part-Set) mode can be activated via the keypad, fob or the mobile app. It arms the system while omitting certain sensors - for example the ones covering your bedrooms - so you can move around part of the property overnight while the rest of the system stays armed.
Open the Ajax app and go to Hub settings > Users. Select the user whose code you want to change, then tap the settings icon to update their code.
There are three steps to taking full control of an existing Ajax hub:
- Get ownership of the hub transferred from the previous owner.
- Take control of all user permissions on the account.
- Add your installer via Service
>Installers.
Unlike traditional wired panels, Ajax has no single "panel code" - every user code is stored in the cloud against the hub's ownership account, so ownership has to be transferred properly rather than just resetting a code at the keypad.
If the previous owner can't be reached, Ajax support can force an ownership change given the right evidence, such as proof of address or proof of purchase. AMCO can help guide you through this process with Ajax support if you're moving into a property with an existing Ajax system.
The Ajax keypad has indicator lights for:
- Armed mode
- Disarmed
- Night mode
- A malfunction / fault indicator
Below the indicators sits the numeric keypad block, along with Clear, Function, Arm, Disarm and Night-mode buttons.
It depends on the sensor. Hub compatibility matters for newer sensor types - for example, a "Hub2 Plus" may be required to support camera-equipped sensors such as MotionCam, and other advanced sensor technology added to the Ajax range over time.
