Getting started

Creating a new account & connecting to a panel

Wintex sets up a new panel connection in six quick steps:

01

Open the “new” tab

Click the “new” tab in the top-left corner of Wintex to start a fresh account.

02

Name the account

Enter an account reference and a file name so the connection is easy to find again later.

03

Open panel details

Select the panel details tab to enter the information Wintex needs to talk to the panel.

04

Enter panel details

Input the panel type, software version, and UDL password for the system you're working on.

05

Click “add”

Save the account by clicking “add” - it's now stored in Wintex ready to connect.

06

Connect to the panel

Use the “connect” navigation button and select the correct COM port for the cable in use.

Programming reference

Zone programming & Global System Options

Tap either item below to expand it - Wintex is built to speed up the two areas that take the most time on the keypad.

Zone programming is handled from the zones section, accessed via the padlock tab. From there you can configure:

  • Zone type
  • Wiring
  • Zone name
  • Zone attributes

Some attributes are automatically added based on the zone type you select, which simplifies setup and reduces the chance of missing a required option on a busy job.

Rather than navigating menus on the physical keypad, Wintex presents Global System Options as tabbed screens with direct text entry. It's a straightforward change, but a significant time-saver when you're commissioning multiple panels in a day.

Using tabbed screens with direct text entry instead of on-keypad menus is one of the main reasons installers reach for Wintex when commissioning multiple Premier panels in a day.
