CSL DualCom vs BT Redcare
This used to be a genuine choice between two live signalling services. It isn’t any more - BT closed Redcare on 15 December 2025, so here’s what Redcare was, and why CSL DualCom is now the real answer.
What BT Redcare was
Redcare was a dual-path alarm signalling service, combining a dedicated phone line with a secure mobile network as backup. It offered 24/7 professional monitoring, instant alerting when an alarm activated, and tamper detection - and for decades it was one of the most widely used signalling services in the UK alarm industry.
BT formally closed Redcare on 15 December 2025.It’s no longer operating, so it isn’t a live option to compare against - any alarm still relying on it needs a replacement communicator now.
So CSL DualCom is now the real choice
CSL DualCom replaces Redcare’s role using dual-path signalling over IP, GPRS or 4G networks - not dependent on a phone line at all. It adds integrated remote diagnostics and maintenance, multiple connectivity options, and flexible monitoring, making it a straightforward like-for-like upgrade for anyone moving off Redcare.
- Dual-path signalling via IP/GPRS/4G, not a phone line
- Remote diagnostics and maintenance built in
- Multiple connectivity options depending on the site
- Flexible monitoring to suit different properties
It isn’t the only option, either - AMCO’s own LiveTalk audio-response monitoring is also available with dual-path signalling. The right pick depends on what you want from your monitoring, which is exactly what our fuller comparison guide walks through.
