How to switch your ADT alarm monitoring to AMCO
Many ADT-installed wired alarm systems used a BT Redcare communicator for monitoring signalling. BT closed Redcare on 15 December 2025, so any system still relying on it can no longer signal a monitoring centre. The good news: you can usually keep your existing wired system and simply switch the communicator and monitoring provider.

Three steps to switch your monitoring
A full system replacement usually isn't necessary - this is normally a straightforward communicator swap. For the complete step-by-step version, see the three-step section of our full switch-over guide.
Step 1
Replace the communicator
An engineer removes the old phone-line (e.g. BT Redcare) communicator and fits a modern dual-path IP/GSM unit.
Step 2
Connect it to your router
The new communicator connects to your broadband router instead of a phone line, with GSM as a backup path.
Step 3
Register with AMCO's ARC
Your alarm is registered with a new Alarm Receiving Centre, and if you have Type A Police Response, we confirm your Police URN carries over correctly.
